It is mentioned in the Bhagwat Puran that Bhagwan Krishn had 16,108 wives. This is described in detail in the Srimad Bhagwat Puran, with an entire chapter dedicated to this topic in Book 10.61, titled “A Glimpse into the Household Life of Bhagwan Krishn.” The story begins with Narad Muni wondering how Bhagwan Krishn could possibly live with so many wives. To find the answer, he decided to visit Bhagwan and see for himself. As Narad Muni moved from mansion to mansion, he was astonished by what he witnessed: in each mansion, Bhagwan Krishn was present with a different wife. This demonstrates that Bhagwan Krishn manifested Himself in multiple forms simultaneously, enabling Him to live as a devoted householder with each wife. He was engaged in a variety of activities—reciting the Gayatri Mantra, playing with His children, giving charity, and performing rituals—demonstrating His boundless capacity and divine Leela. The following passages (Figures 1 to 5) illustrate these miraculous manifestations and offer a glimpse into Bhagwan Krishn’s household Leela.
